First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will check if a new physical exam called Said's test can accurately diagnose biceps tendon injuries in the shoulder. Researchers will test 144 adults, including those with shoulder injuries and healthy volunteers. Two doctors will perform the new test and standard tests, then compare results to MRI or arthroscopy to see how accurate and reliable the new test is.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could give doctors a more reliable, low-cost way to diagnose biceps injuries during a physical exam.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study that only tests the exam's accuracy, not a treatment. The new test may not prove better than existing methods.
