Can intensive training rewire the brain after spinal cord injury? new study seeks answers.

NCT ID NCT06065384

First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether intensive arm and hand training, started within 13 weeks of a cervical spinal cord injury, can help the brain and nerves adapt and improve movement. Researchers will measure changes in brain activity, nerve signals, and hand function in 44 participants before and after 8 weeks of extra training, plus at a 6-month check-up. The goal is to understand how the nervous system recovers, not to test a new treatment or cure.
