Nose virus may explain brain fog in long COVID
NCT ID NCT05220241
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at 51 adults who had COVID-19 2 to 12 months earlier and still had brain fog or other thinking problems. Researchers checked if the virus was still hiding in the nose's smell center. They compared these patients to a control group to see if lingering virus is linked to ongoing cognitive symptoms.
