Could a High-Tech suit help people walk again after stroke or spinal injury?
NCT ID NCT07164846
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a special suit called the Neuro20 that uses mild electrical pulses to stimulate muscles in the arms, legs, chest, and back. Researchers want to see if wearing it during therapy sessions can improve walking ability, muscle performance, and heart health in people who have had a spinal cord injury, stroke, or amputation. Up to 30 participants will complete 12 sessions, each lasting 1-2 hours, while the team measures changes in how far they can walk and their heart rate variability.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Neuro20 functional electrical stimulation suit
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new way to help people with nerve injuries walk better and improve their overall health without drugs.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small, early-stage study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The suit may cause skin irritation or discomfort from the electrical stimulation.
