Sound waves could spot nerve disease earlier

NCT ID NCT06615622

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether ultrasound can detect nerve changes in people with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). Researchers will compare ultrasound images with standard nerve tests to see if ultrasound helps diagnose these conditions earlier. About 90 adults aged 18 to 75 will take part. The goal is to improve understanding and speed up diagnosis.
