One shot to stop the hurt: nerve block aims to prevent chronic pain after mastectomy

NCT ID NCT06019325

Summary

This study tested if a single nerve-block injection given during mastectomy surgery could reduce both immediate post-surgery pain and the risk of developing long-term chronic pain. Researchers compared two groups of patients: one received the nerve block, and the other did not. They measured pain levels for 24 hours after surgery and checked for chronic pain again at 3 and 6 months.
