First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tested giving a precise, high-dose radiation treatment (stereotactic radiosurgery) before surgically removing large brain metastases in 30 patients. The goal was to see if this approach lowers the risk of serious side effects and helps control the tumor locally. Participants had one to six brain tumors, with at least one large enough to need surgery.
