First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether a nasal spray containing two medicines (dexmedetomidine and esketamine) can safely reduce pain in children aged 3-7 after tonsil and adenoid surgery. About 160 children will receive either the spray or a placebo, and their pain levels will be tracked for two days after surgery. The goal is to find a better way to manage post-surgery pain without strong side effects.
