Sleep better with NAD? new study tests Supplement's power
NCT ID NCT06971224
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether taking a form of Vitamin B3 (nicotinamide riboside) can improve sleep quality in healthy adults aged 40-60. Sixteen participants will receive either the supplement or a placebo for 8 weeks, and their sleep will be measured with brainwave monitoring. The goal is to see if NAD boosts the brain's ability to rest during sleep.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Nicotinamide Riboside (a form of Vitamin B3)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a natural supplement to improve sleep quality in healthy people.
What could go wrong
This is a very small pilot study with only 16 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It's also testing healthy sleepers, so any benefit might be small.
