Stomach prep cocktail may sharpen endoscopy views
NCT ID NCT07245095
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether taking N-acetylcysteine and simethicone before an upper GI endoscopy (a camera exam of the stomach) improves how clearly doctors can see the stomach lining. About 132 adults, both healthy and those with stomach issues, will receive either the medication or a placebo (water) before the procedure. The goal is to see if this simple pre-treatment leads to better detection of abnormalities.
