Brain scans reveal if music therapy eases student stress
NCT ID NCT07024979
Summary
This study is testing whether a specific type of music therapy, where students write songs, can help reduce feelings of depression, anxiety, and stress while improving social connections. Researchers will compare songwriting sessions to simple music listening and discussion in 20 university students. They will also use special synchronized brain scans on both the student and therapist during sessions to try to understand how the therapy might work in the brain.
