New community program helps High-Risk COPD patients take control of their health

This study tested a community-based program for adults at high risk for COPD who also have other health issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, or mental health concerns. Over 9,300 participants in Xishui County were assigned to either the program or usual care. The program included lung function tests, education, digital health tools for smokers and those with mental health needs, and help managing other conditions. The goal was to see if this approach could improve COPD knowledge, screening rates, and lung function after one year.
