First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a new blood test that looks for DNA from cancer cells. The goal is to see if an artificial intelligence program can accurately detect many different types of cancer at an early stage. The study will include 6,000 adults, some with cancer and some healthy volunteers, to see how well the test works.

What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple blood test that catches many types of cancer early, when they are easier to treat.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study focused on developing and validating the test. It is not yet proven to work in the real world, and there is a risk of false positives or false negatives.
