NCT ID NCT02050542

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether using an MRI to guide prostate biopsies could detect cancer as well as the standard 12-sample systematic biopsy. Researchers enrolled 108 men aged 45-75 with elevated PSA levels and suspicious MRI findings. They compared the cancer detection rates of 3 targeted biopsies guided by MRI-ultrasound fusion against the standard 12-sample approach.
