Mpox survivors tracked for 5 years to uncover hidden health effects
NCT ID NCT05879965
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study follows 345 people who had mpox or received the smallpox vaccine to see if there are any long-term physical or mental health problems. Researchers will also check how long the body's immune memory lasts by testing blood, saliva, semen, and anal swabs over 5 years. Participants complete questionnaires and provide samples at several follow-up visits. The goal is to better understand recovery and immunity after mpox.
