Summary
This study tests whether a modified Chinese herbal formula (Ma Xing Shi Gan Decoction) can help people recover faster from sudden worsening of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). About 200 adults with a COPD flare-up will receive either standard care or standard care plus the herbal medicine for 14 days. The main goal is to see if the herbal treatment shortens hospital stays and improves breathing and symptoms.
