First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study is testing whether a mobile app can help detect postpartum depression early in pregnant women. Researchers will follow 120 women for 6 months, using daily mood questions and monthly surveys through the app. The goal is to understand how symptoms change over time and to find better ways to identify those who need help sooner.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could provide a simple, app-based way to catch postpartum depression early, allowing for quicker support and treatment.

What could go wrong

This is a small pilot study with only 120 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The app relies on self-reported mood, which can be inaccurate.
