First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested whether a 45°-cut miswak (a natural chewing stick) removes dental plaque from children's teeth as effectively as a regular toothbrush. 82 healthy kids aged 6 to 14 took part, and researchers measured plaque levels and asked which tool they preferred. The goal is to find a simple, low-cost way to help children control plaque and prevent cavities.
