New drug may ease shingles pain without drowsiness

Summary
This study tests whether adding a newer pain medication called mirogabalin to standard shingles treatment provides better pain relief than standard treatment alone. The trial will enroll 750 adults with shingles rash for less than 30 days and moderate to severe pain. Mirogabalin is designed to target pain with fewer side effects like dizziness or sleepiness.
