NCT ID NCT07310797
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests two medications, mirabegron and tamsulosin, to see which works best for helping people pass ureteral stones and reducing pain. 500 adults with stones between 4-10 mm will be randomly assigned to one of four groups: mirabegron alone, tamsulosin alone, both drugs together, or standard care. The main goal is to see how many stones pass within 4 weeks, along with pain levels and side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Mirabegron and Tamsulosin
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could show that mirabegron, alone or with tamsulosin, helps pass kidney stones faster and reduces pain better than current standard care.
- What could go wrong
- This is a phase 4 trial, so the drugs are already approved, but results may not apply to all stone types or sizes. Side effects like low blood pressure or urinary issues are possible.
