First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at brain scans of 195 young adults (ages 18-30) with moderate to severe congenital heart disease to find signs of hidden brain injury. Researchers used MRI to measure brain structure and damage that could lead to memory or thinking problems later in life. The goal was to learn more about how heart conditions affect the brain over time, not to test a treatment.
