Can mindfulness stop diabetes in teens?
NCT ID NCT04992299
Summary
This study tested whether a 6-week mindfulness training program could help overweight teenagers who are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. Researchers compared mindfulness training against two other approaches—cognitive behavioral therapy and health education—to see which was most practical and acceptable for teens. The goal was to reduce depression symptoms and improve insulin resistance, potentially preventing diabetes later in life.
