First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study tests whether listening to a short mindfulness audio while waiting for an orthopedic appointment can reduce pain. About 400 adults will be randomly assigned to either the mindfulness exercise or a standard injury management talk. The goal is to see if this simple, no-drug approach can make pain feel less unpleasant and less intense right away.
