Got milk? study tests if it tricks flu tests.
NCT ID NCT06850298
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether drinking pasteurized milk that contains harmless, inactive pieces of the H5 flu virus could cause a positive flu test from a nose or throat swab. The goal is to help the CDC improve flu surveillance by understanding how milk consumption might affect test results. About 30 healthy adults aged 18-64 will drink the milk and provide samples to see if the virus is detected and if their bodies make antibodies.
