Summary

This observational study looks at whether a combination of treatments can lower the oxygen demand of the heart and kidneys in people with type 1 diabetes. Researchers will compare those receiving intensive care to those on standard treatment. Forty adults with long-standing type 1 diabetes and signs of kidney or heart disease will be followed for two years with special scans and lab tests.
