Can a plant-based diet boost gut health in blood cancer precursors?

NCT ID NCT06055894

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at how a short-term plant-based diet or supplements (omega-3, curcumin, or probiotics) change levels of butyrate—a healthy gut compound—in people with smoldering multiple myeloma or MGUS. About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to one of the diet or supplement groups for two weeks. The goal is to understand how these dietary changes affect gut bacteria, not to treat the disease directly.
