One-Dose steroid before liver surgery may cut infections and hospital time
NCT ID NCT07507643
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jul 08, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This phase 3 trial tests whether a single dose of methylprednisolone given before major liver surgery can lower the risk of complications like infections and shorten hospital stays. About 750 adults scheduled for major hepatectomy will be randomly assigned to receive either the steroid or standard care. The study aims to see if this simple addition improves recovery without causing harm.
