NCT ID NCT02353702
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether giving continuous local anesthetic (ropivacaine) near the incision after liver surgery could improve diaphragm function and reduce lung complications. It planned to include 88 adults, but was terminated early after enrolling only 31. The main goal was to measure diaphragm strength using a sniff test. The study was stopped before completion, so results are limited.
