Study seeks better PCOS care for women nearing menopause

NCT ID NCT03905941

Summary

This study aimed to find out if women with PCOS in their 40s were just as satisfied taking metformin as they were taking birth control pills. It planned to have women try each medication for six months and measure their quality of life, symptoms, and health markers. The goal was to see if metformin, which helps with metabolic issues, could be a good alternative to birth control for managing PCOS at this stage of life.
