Summary
This study tested whether metformin, a common diabetes drug, can slow aging in healthy adults aged 40 to 75. Researchers gave metformin or a placebo to 101 participants for 12 weeks to see how it affected insulin sensitivity, blood sugar control, and mitochondrial function. The goal was to find out who might benefit from metformin as an anti-aging treatment.
