Cancer's hidden toll: study probes why patients 'Forget to Remember'

NCT ID NCT03975959

Summary

This study aimed to understand the nature of memory complaints in people with cancer, specifically brain tumors or breast cancer. Researchers compared 426 participants, including patients and healthy controls, to see if they reported more issues with remembering future plans (prospective memory) versus past events (retrospective memory). The goal was to explore how factors like depression and fatigue relate to these memory complaints, to better guide future psychological support for patients.
