First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a genetically modified herpes virus (RP1) injected directly into melanoma tumors. The goal is to see if it can kill cancer cells and train the immune system to attack the cancer, reducing the chance it spreads to nearby lymph nodes. About 25 adults with thick or high-risk melanoma will participate. The main measure is how many have cancer in their sentinel lymph node after treatment.
