Triple-drug attack aims to stop melanoma from coming back
NCT ID NCT04722575
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 2 trial tests whether giving a mix of targeted drugs and immunotherapy before and after surgery can reduce the risk of melanoma returning in people with high-risk, resectable tumors. About 95 participants will receive vemurafenib, cobimetinib, and atezolizumab in different sequences. The main goal is to see if the cancer disappears completely in the removed tissue.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Vemurafenib, cobimetinib, and atezolizumab
What this could lead to
If successful, this combination could lower the chance of melanoma returning after surgery for people with high-risk disease.
What could go wrong
This is a mid-stage trial with only 95 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. Side effects from the drugs can be serious.
