First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a Mediterranean diet could help people with psychiatric disorders who also have metabolic syndrome (a cluster of conditions like high blood pressure and unhealthy cholesterol). Researchers compared the Mediterranean diet to a standard hospital diet over 8 weeks in 144 hospitalized adults. They measured changes in weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and inflammation to see if the diet could improve these health markers.
