First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether combining a Mediterranean diet with progressive resistance training could improve bone density in adults aged 65 and older. Over 12 months, 22 participants followed the diet and exercise program, while 19 received no structured intervention. Researchers measured bone density and bone turnover markers to see if the lifestyle changes helped maintain or improve bone health.
