First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a modified Mediterranean diet can prevent weight gain, improve heart health, and reduce fatty liver disease in people who have had a liver transplant. Researchers will enroll 80 adults and track changes in weight and body fat. The diet limits salt and alcohol while emphasizing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

What this could lead to

If it works, this could show that a structured diet helps liver transplant patients avoid weight gain, heart problems, and fatty liver disease.
