First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a new combination of five oral drugs for people with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), a serious lung infection that is hard to treat. The goal is to see if a shorter treatment (16 to 40 weeks) can cure the infection with fewer side effects than current options. About 271 participants aged 12 and older will take the all-pill regimen and be followed for over a year to check if the bacteria are cleared.
