Could a gentle vibration treatment ease carpal tunnel pain?
NCT ID NCT07660913
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study investigates whether matrix rhythm therapy, a device that delivers gentle vibrations to the hand and arm, can reduce symptom severity and improve hand function in people with mild-to-moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. Participants receive either active or sham therapy twice a week for six weeks, alongside standard care. The trial measures changes in symptoms, grip strength, and quality of life over 12 weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Matrix rhythm therapy (device-based vibration treatment)
What this could lead to
If effective, this therapy could offer a non-surgical, drug-free option to ease pain and numbness and improve hand function in carpal tunnel syndrome.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with 84 participants. The sham device mimics vibration, so any benefit may be due to a placebo effect. Results may not apply to severe cases.
