New hope pill aims to slow Alzheimer's memory loss

NCT ID NCT05564169

Summary

This large Phase 3 trial will test if adding an experimental oral drug called masitinib to standard Alzheimer's medications can safely slow down the progression of the disease. The study will involve 600 people with mild Alzheimer's who are already taking stable doses of their current treatments. Researchers will measure changes in memory, thinking, and daily function over 24 and 48 weeks to see if masitinib helps patients maintain their abilities longer.
