First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at how smoking marijuana with different levels of THC affects alcohol cravings and drinking in people who are heavy drinkers and also use marijuana. 157 participants were given either a high-THC, moderate-THC, or placebo marijuana cigarette, then their alcohol cravings and drinking choices were measured. The goal was to understand the relationship between marijuana and alcohol use, not to test a treatment.
