Magnesium may ease nerve pain and sleep problems during chemotherapy

NCT ID NCT07346469

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether taking magnesium by mouth or soaking feet in a magnesium solution can help colorectal cancer patients who are on chemotherapy. The goal is to see if these simple treatments can reduce nerve damage (pain, tingling) and improve sleep quality. About 75 adults will be randomly assigned to one of three groups: magnesium pills, magnesium pills plus foot baths, or standard care. Researchers will track changes in magnesium levels, nerve symptoms, and sleep over several chemotherapy cycles.
