Summary
This study followed 39 lung cancer patients who received radiation therapy to see how it affected their breathing. Researchers measured lung volume and gas exchange capacity before and after treatment, looking for a 20% or greater drop in diffusion capacity at 3 months. The goal was to better understand the lung damage caused by modern radiotherapy techniques.
