Less radiation, same results? new study aims to reduce side effects for neck cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05780372

First seen May 20, 2026 ยท Last updated May 20, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using a smaller area of radiation on the neck is as effective as the standard larger area for treating nasopharyngeal cancer. About 474 patients with early-stage cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either the reduced or conventional radiation. The goal is to see if the smaller area can prevent cancer from coming back while causing fewer side effects and improving quality of life.
