Can adding surgery or radiation to immunotherapy boost survival in advanced lung cancer?

NCT ID NCT03391869

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding local treatments like surgery or radiation to a combination of two immunotherapy drugs (nivolumab and ipilimumab) helps people with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer live longer compared to immunotherapy alone. About 339 participants who have not had immunotherapy before will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the combined approach improves overall survival.
