First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study aims to see which treatment for early-stage lung cancer—surgery or a less invasive ablation—best preserves lung function over time. Researchers will use machine learning to combine 3D CT scans and breathing tests to predict outcomes for each patient. About 192 adults with stage IA lung cancer will be followed for two years after treatment. The goal is to help doctors choose the best approach for each person, improving recovery and quality of life.
