Needle swap or not? new study aims to sharpen lung cancer staging
NCT ID NCT07418450
First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether doctors need to change the needle between sampling different lymph nodes during a lung cancer staging procedure called EBUS-TBNA. About 30 people with suspected or confirmed lung cancer will have two rounds of staging: one with a fresh needle for each node, and one reusing the same needle. The goal is to see if skipping the needle change changes the results.
