Danish doctors seek safer second chance against returning lung cancer

NCT ID NCT06950073

Summary

This study aims to gather detailed information to make repeat radiation therapy safer for lung cancer survivors whose cancer has returned or who develop a new tumor in the chest. Researchers will follow 500 patients in Denmark to track severe side effects, survival, and quality of life after a second round of high-dose radiation. The goal is to create better safety guidelines so more patients can safely receive this potentially curative treatment a second time.
