New antibiotic paste could replace needles and drills for Kids' tooth infections
NCT ID NCT07026435
First seen May 31, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a gentler way to treat infected baby molars in 110 children aged 4 to 10. Instead of fully cleaning and filling the root canal (pulpectomy), the new method uses an antibiotic paste to kill infection with less drilling. Over 12 months, researchers checked if the teeth healed without pain or swelling, aiming to see if the simpler approach works just as well.
