Radiation cut by more than half in new throat cancer trial

Summary
This study is testing whether a much lower dose of radiation, combined with standard chemotherapy, can effectively control HPV-positive throat cancer while causing fewer side effects. It will involve 121 adults with this specific cancer type who have not had prior radiation to the head and neck. The main goal is to see if the cancer control rate with the low-dose radiation is acceptable compared to the current, higher-dose standard treatment.
