Summary
This study tested whether taking a low-dose aspirin (160 mg) each night, starting before 16 weeks of pregnancy, could prevent pre-eclampsia and small babies in first-time mothers at high risk. Over 1,100 women with abnormal blood flow in the uterine artery were randomly assigned to aspirin or a placebo until 34 weeks. The goal was to see if this simple, safe drug could reduce serious pregnancy complications.
